Published: February 12, 2010

HAMPTON, Va. — Super Saturday 2010, a financial aid information seminar for students who plan to attend college, is set for Saturday, February 13 at 32 locations throughout Virginia. Thomas Nelson Community College area students can take advantage of this free event at three locations – Peninsula Higher Education Center (600 Butler Farm Road, Hampton), Warwick High School (51 Copeland Lane, Newport News) or the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg).

Beginning at 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., the event will give college bound students and their parents an opportunity to explore funding options for college. All participating students will be entered in a drawing to receive $100 towards college textbooks; door prizes will also be awarded.

The event will include information sessions about college funding and professional financial aid counselors will be on hand to help interested families complete the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Parents interested in help with the FAFSA should bring financial information with them. For additional information about the FAFSA, visit www.fafsa.ed.gov.
