An Orientation Session for members of the Thomas Nelson Community College Local College Board has been scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. to be held on the Hampton and Historic Triangle campuses. The purpose of the Board Orientation is to familiarize the new Board members with the College’s mission and its organizational and operational structure, the collegial decision-making processes, the College’s facilities and to provide them with other information or processes that will help them in their duties as Board members. Each vice president will have a brief meeting with the Board members to provide an area overview and present critical issues that may be of interest to the Board.
The President’s Cabinet will meet with the Board members at lunch time for informal discussions. In the afternoon, Board members will be visiting the College’s Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg. The meetings are open to the public in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
