Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) will test an emergency alert system on Friday, October 28 on its two campuses. The test begins at 9 a.m. on the Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg lasting for roughly 15 to 20 minutes. At 1 p.m., the test takes place on the Hampton campus lasting approximately one hour.
Those on and near TNCC campuses should expect to hear several different tones and verbal messages during the tests.
TNCC officials coordinated with emergency managers in Hampton and Williamsburg in scheduling the tests. The October 28 demonstration will help to determine the best placement for the alert system to maximize coverage and confirm sound zone locations on TNCC campuses.
