TNCC’s Hampton Campus Gets Temporary HRT Bus Stop July 9

Published: July 6, 2012

Beginning Monday, July 9, a temporary Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus stop will be located on Thomas Nelson Drive as replacement for the bus stop shelter and transfer point near Hastings Hall on Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Hampton campus.

The temporary bus stop will be for drop off and pick up only during the construction of a new HRT bus stop and transfer point in the parking lot adjacent to Hastings Hall. HRT signage will mark the temporary bus stop and the parking lot will be closed during the project.

College officials said construction will last roughly six weeks. Designed with safety in mind, the new HRT bus stop and transfer point will include a dedicated walkway with lighting for evening customers and three shelters to protect patrons from the elements.

The project is on schedule despite recent inclement weather and is expected to be complete by the time fall semester begins in August, officials noted.

Direct questions to TNCC’s Office of Finance and Administration, (757) 825-2717.
