The York River Symphony Orchestra will present “Water Music” at Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) on Sunday, October 10 at 3 p.m. in the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium, Hampton campus.
Dr. Eric Reiff, Conductor, will lead the musicians as they present Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Herbert’s The Wizard of the Nile, Titanic Medley by Horner and Moss, selections from Showboat and more.
The York River Symphony Orchestra, which holds residency at the TNCC auditorium, was founded in 1984 with help from the York County School Board to cater to music students with advanced ability. Since its inception, the nonprofit organization has given area orchestra students the opportunity to play a wide variety of pieces at a myriad of venues in the Hampton Roads area, including the Virginia Air & Space Museum. While the musicians hone their music and performing skills, residents in Hampton Roads have the opportunity to enjoy affordable entertainment.
Purchase tickets in advance for $10, $8 for students, seniors and military. Tickets will be $12, $10 for students, seniors and military at the door.
