Technology Resources

Thomas Nelson provides technologies that allow students to be succesful in any program offered at the college. Students may access most College-provided technologies by signing in to MyTNCC. Typically, online course-related tools are integrated within the college's learning management system Canvas.

  • OneDrive - Please note that files uploaded into a student's OneDrive space will be remove after one academic year of inactive enrollment. Once, the one year of inactive enrollment has lapsed, the student will have 30days to request to recover any files held in the Recycle Bin. This applies to all Virginia Community College System students (auditing, non-degree seeking, degree seeking, and workforce). If you have questions or need assistance, contact the TNCC Helpdesk

  • Brainfuse - 24/7 online tutoring service 
  • Hoonuit - a library of technology tutorials (login via MyTNCC)
  • StudyMate - online studying tool to make flashcards, crosswords, and other games

  • Studio (formerly known as Arc) - only accessible within Canvas (More Info)
  • Canvas for Students (Android & iOS)


Blackboard, Blackboard Student, Blackboard Collaborate/Ultra, and any other Blackboard-associated  technologies will not be available after June 30. All Summer 2019 and upcoming semester courses will be delivered via Canvas.

  • Enough harddrive space to  operate most Windows 10, 8, 7, & 2000/Mac OS Snow Leopard, Lion, & Sierra
  • 4 –6 GB of RAM
  • CPU that is no more than 1-3 yrs old
  • Can connect to the internet by hardwired and wirelessly
  • USB ports
  • Webcam ( may be required for online courses)
