The Red Cross needs your help!
They need blood donors to help maintain a sufficient blood supply, because blood is perishable and cannot be stockpiled. Don’t Worry! The Red Cross has set up additional safety precautions to protect all donors. It is important to make an appointment in order to maintain social distancing practices.
Blood drives are scheduled in all communities throughout Virginia and are open to the public. You can find blood drives by zip code. To sign-up, go to www.redcrossblood.org/give

- Please note: As of June 15, The American Red Cross is testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. This will help provide insight into whether a donor has been exposed to this coronavirus.
- The antibody test is authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and may indicate if the donor’s immune system has produced antibodies to the coronavirus, regardless of whether they developed symptoms.
- Red Cross donors can expect to receive the results of their antibody test within 7 to 10 days through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or on their donor portal at redcrossblood.org.
