In today’s society we sometimes replace the value of humanity for the quick gratification provided by social media. This workshop will help you create balance in a fun way through: music, conversation, interactive activities, games and artwork. You won’t even know you’re learning! Join in this experience each day and learn about the following topics:
September 23 – Breaking Stereotypes
Instagram has become everyone’s best friend but it has created bigger than life egos. It does encourage expression which is very important but it also begins to encourage a disconnect in real life communication and gives a false sense of reality. The activities and conversation are entertaining but also have many moments that make the listener think twice.
September 24 – Value vs Worth
These two words seem the same but they are actually very different. Value is a person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgement of what is important in life. Worth is the value equivalent to that of someone or something under consideration; the level at which someone or something deserves to be valued or rated. We are going to have a healthy competition, but at what length will individuals go to win before they start losing their value or their worth.
September 25 – Proving You Believe
You can only act purposefully when you believe in something and we must completely embrace the belief in ourselves. It all starts with recognizing that we don’t have to prove who we are by trends or cliques that validate our worth through popularity. This workshop provides activities to help motivate you to find your uniqueness. We will have fun from the inside out while playing a mock version of The Price is Right and making connections with others to create a sense of community.
