College Introduces New Professional Development Opportunity

Thomas Nelson Community College has established a new avenue for College personnel to their boost their leadership skills and grow through professional development.

The Nelson Excels – Professional Development Program (PDP) is a seven-week certificate program spanning Sept. 21 to Nov. 2 that aims to help participants realize their key competencies. Through an interactive approach, PDP will enable participants to discover and grow strengths; enhance communication skills; improve time management skills; create personal and professional goals; and become aligned with the College’s strategic vision. Participation requires a supervisor’s approval.

The program’s Certificate 1 will help individuals understand how their personal actions, attitudes and approach impacts their performance and ability to deliver results. The Thursday classes take place 1 – 5 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center, room 1120. Topics will include What It Takes to Succeed, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and more.

Upon approved registration, participants will be registered in each course individually and receive an email with a link to add the course to their calendars.
