Thomas Nelson Community College offices at campuses in Hampton and Williamsburg will be closed Wednesday, March 7. College personnel will be engaged in a series of workshops as part of the Classified Support Staff Association's (CSSA) Professional Development Day. College offices will reopen Thursday, March 8.

Themed Strengthening the Bonds through Diversity and Inclusion, activities will include a 9 a.m. opening session in Templin Hall's Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium featuring addresses by Thomas Nelson President John Dever and CSSA President Matt Hedrick. The event also will feature guest speaker Natoya Haskins, a William and Mary assistant professor, presenting “Climate of Diversity within Higher Education.”
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., break-out sessions will include Cross Generational Divide; Hidden Disability: The Hidden Self; Climate of Diversity within Higher Education; and Cultures within Culture. The sessions will feature presenters from Thomas Nelson as well as special guests.
The day also will include lunch at 11:30 a.m. in Gators Café in Griffin Hall.
