Got a knack for acting or improvisation? What to put your technical skills in video production, editing and more to work? The College’s Press Play podcast and virtual studio needs you.
The Press Play team wants to create a performance troupe to develop, produce, perform and promote regular podcasts. From the Press Play studio, the troupe will develop original scripts; produce published pieces; perform in various styles including (but not limited to) spoken word, scripted dialogue, singing and more. Additionally, the podcasts will promote Press Play and Thomas Nelson Community College programs to students, faculty, staff, and community in the College’s service area.
Actors: Age 18 and up comfortable with staged readings, improvisation, and interpreting the written word
Technicians: Age 18 and up with audio editing or podcast experience or the desire to learn
Actors: Email your submission with the subject “Podcast Performer” to email@example.com. Entries should be a three- to five-minute video of any style including poetry, literature, or a monologue from theater, film or television. Pieces do not need to be memorized. Reading from a script, book, or screen is fine and you will not be judged on such. However, please make the effort to be as engaging as you can vocally. Your email should include a short introduction containing your name and any information about yourself you care to share.
Technicians: Simply email with the subject “Podcast Technician” to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us about yourself, your interest in being a part of the troupe, and any experience you have with audio or editing software.
This opportunity to share your talent and creativity is open to students, faculty and staff. Please submit your entries by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
