Thomas Nelson's Dental Hygiene Program recognized its eighth graduating class during a Pinning and Awards Ceremony on May 7 at the Hampton campus in Templin Hall’s Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium.
Seven students were acknowledged during the event which represents the completion of students' dental hygiene education. Recognized by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, the pinning ritual included students reciting an oath administered by the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association.
Students include Celeste Granell, Amy Lenk, Christine Loehr, Marjorie Riddle, Kristen Robichaud, Erika Serrano and Kristen Wilkins. The class achieved a 100 percent pass rate on national board and licensing exams marking the eighth consecutive year the program experienced such success.
Thomas Nelson added the associate degree program in Dental Hygiene in August 2010 to complement its offerings in the Health Professions division. The program is housed at Thomas Nelson’s Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg.
