Thomas Nelson officials have announced that Steven Carpenter will serve as the College’s next vice president for Finance & Administration effective Aug. 12.
Carpenter is joining the College from Newport News Waterworks, where he serves as enterprise manager with responsibility for overall leadership and supervision of financial and business administrative functions.
His background includes service as budget manager and human resource manager for the City of Newport News. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at Thomas Nelson. Carpenter has a master’s degree in business management from Regent University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration-management from Christopher Newport University.
“Since April 1, Dr. Ellen Davenport has provided the College with insightful and helpful leadership as interim vice president (for Finance & Administration). Her last day with us will be Aug. 9,” wrote Thomas Nelson President John Dever in a recent email.
