Space Grant Consortium, NASA Offering Opportunities for STEM Students

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium in partnership with Virginia's Community Colleges (VCCS), NASA Langley Research Center and NASA Wallops Flight Facility is offering the STEM Takes Flight, a suite of programs that allow STEM students to conduct hands-on summer research projects.

Students work under the guidance of a NASA research advisor at NASA Langley or NASA Wallops Flight Facility. The program will span June 3 through Aug. 9. Participants will receive a $5,000 stipend.

Students must be rising sophomores or in their sophomore year at the time of the research experience. Students graduating May 2019 are encouraged to apply as well. Other requirements: 

  • Students must be U.S. citizens,
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old,
  • The STEM major must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours.
