VSGC Offering $2,000 Scholarships for STEM Students

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 Community College STEM Scholarship Program.  The program provides $2,000 scholarships for students enrolled in a Virginia community college STEM program. Students must apply for the scholarship during the freshman year and use the scholarship during the sophomore year. Applied Health Science majors are not eligible.

To qualify, an applicant must: 

  • Be a U.S. citizen;
  • Be enrolled full-time during the award period in a Virginia Community College;
  • Have completed at least one semester of coursework (minimum nine credit hours) at the time of application;
  • Be a STEM program major;
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA;  and 
  • Expect to graduate in May of 2019 or later.

The VSGC is a coalition of five Virginia colleges and universities, NASA, state educational agencies and other institutions representing diverse STEM education and research. The consortium offers an array of student opportunities including fellowships, scholarships, internships, research experiences and student  flight projects.
