Jack Bowden plans to continue his college education but he's keeping his options open for now. His focus is on completing studies at Virginia Peninsula Community College where he is majoring in computer science. "Virginia Peninsula has provided me with a lot of exposure to leadership opportunities and connected me with a lot of experts in [computer science] while allowing me to remain close to home," he said.
With George Mason University high on his list of transfer prospects, Bowden is grateful that Virginia Peninsula affords access to higher education at a fraction of the cost. "I estimate that I have saved $30,000 so far before transferring," said the 2013 Bruton High School graduate.
Between classes Bowden can be found immersed in Student Government Association activities or serving as an information technology intern with York County Schools
